Expansion of shared ownership schemes planned

The UK Treasury is looking at ways to boost home ownership, including expanding the availability of shared ownership schemes.

The introduction of right-to-buy for housing association tenants should increase levels of home ownership, but many tenants find themselves unable to get a mortgage for the entire cost of a property.

A higher portion of those properties that will replace homes sold under right-to-buy will be offered for shared ownership, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
