BGR is aiming to operate 8 restaurants by 2000 and 11 in the next 18 months.
It announced plans to open branches of its Bank concept in Birmingham and Edinburgh. It also plans to open a new mid-range brasserie, Fish!, in south London in November. It is to build a restaurant at The Scotsman newspaper building in Edinburgh, which is being converted into an hotel by Leeds entrepreneur Jonathan Wix. It is also planning a restaurant called Zander at the St James Court Hotel, Westminster, London.
The restaurant and food preparation group lifted interim pretax profits 7% to £984,000 on turnover up 9% to £7.2m.
