Big Four accountant EY has agreed terms with Canary Wharf Group to lease 200,000 sq ft at 25 Churchill Place , E14.
A statement released by Canary Wharf confirmed the letting and said further details would be announced when final agreements were concluded.
EY, formerly Ernst & Young, will become the second tenant in the 500,000 sq ft, 23-storey tower, following the European Medicine Agency’s 250,000 sq ft prelet in 2011.
The accountant will retain its current headquarters at More London with the Docklands office acting as overflow space and a chance to locate finance-oriented staff closer to their banking clients.
EY also has a lease on 143,700 sq ft at Becket House , 1 Lambeth Palace Road, SE1 in Waterloo that runs to 2026.
Any deal is thought to hinge of EY’s ability to shed the lease liability from its balance sheet; however, final terms have yet to be agreed.
