Russell Gardner has been promoted to head of real estate, hospitality and construction at EY.
Gardner joined the firm in 2000 and was previously head of EY’s real estate tax business in London. He specialises in tax advice on large real estate and leisure transactions and UK and international tax structuring of real estate businesses and investments.
The real estate, hospitality and construction practice comprises 300 UK-based staff, including Fraser Greenshields and Mathieu Roland-Billecart.
Last year the team advised on Urban & Civic’s reverse takeover of Terrace Hill Group.
Gardner’s promotion follows the departure in February of Rishi Bhuchar to Deutsche Bank to be its head of real estate investment banking in the UK, Middle East and Africa, and Dean Hodcroft, who joined Cale Street Partners last February as a founding partner.
