The Football Association has agreed terms for a £600m sale of Wembley Stadium to Pakistani-American billionaire Shahid Khan, but doubts have emerged over whether the deal will survive a critical vote within English football’s governing body.
Khan, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team, has been in talks to acquire the stadium, known as England’s “home of football”, from the FA since April. The two sides have agreed an outline deal in recent days, according to several people familiar with the matter.
But the terms have to be approved by the FA’s 10-member board at a crunch meeting on Thursday.
