Falcon swoops for ABC cinema to revitalise Brighton scheme

A major Brighton leisure scheme is back on course after three years of uncertainty. Falcon Land, the firm run by Antony Spencer and Tony Green, directors of Anthony Green & Spencer, along with Central Investments has bought the former ABC cinema in East Street, located opposite the Palace Pier.

The project has been at the planning and licensing stage for three years, but Falcon aims to complete the 7,432 sq m (80,000 sq ft) development by next summer. It has been partially prelet to Rank Casinos.

Spencer said: “We are encouraged by the level of interest we have had from the A3 retail market.” He added that several funds are interested in forward purchasing the scheme, valued at £9m.
