Sales of construction equipment in Britain are due to fall more quickly next year than in other west European countries, according to Off-Highway Research. The projected drop of 5.2% in unit terms is linked to the generally depressed state of the construction business and particularly to the slowdown in road building. This is bad news for the UK-based construction equipment industry which has enjoyed strong growth since the early 1990s recession.
