Fall in visitors results in £4m loss for Eden Project

The Eden Project is £4m in debt due to a 20% fall in visitors over the past year.

Its accounts show turnover for the year to March was £18.3m, which is a fall of £4m on the previous year, and £8.7m accumulated losses over the three years.

The scheme, which has generated inward investment of £500m, has announced a further £33m of development, to be funded by the Millennium Commission, the European Regional Development Fund and the South West Regional Development Agency.
