Far East Consortium injects £30m into Crouch End restoration

Far East Consortium (FEC) is investing £30m into the restoration of Crouch End’s Town Hall Square and redevelopment of Hornsey Town Hall.

The Grade II listed civic headquarters is undergoing restoration into a new residential site.

FEC’s investment will be split into £29m for the Town Hall and £1m for the Town Hall Square.

Hornsey Town Hall will provide a wide range of community spaces., including a new arts centre, which will be run by The Time + Space Co, as well as flexible workspaces, restaurants, cafes, and event spaces.

The Town Hall is one of the earliest examples of modernist architecture in Britain

A new hotel, operated by Dorsett Hospitality International, will be situated within the original Town Hall building and 135 new apartments will be situated in the grounds of the Town Hall.

Built in 1935 to house Hornsey Borough Council, the Town Hall is one of the earliest examples of modernist architecture in Britain.

“Having worked closely with local community groups throughout the consultation period, our new plans will restore the Town Hall Square into a new public and civic space, and a new destination for all to use and enjoy.”
