Farmer faces jail for failing to demolish home

Farmer Robert Fidler faces a three-month prison sentence after refusing to demolish a mock-Tudor castle he built in 2000 without planning permission.

Reigate and Banstead borough council had ordered in 2007 that the building be demolished. A high-court judge ruled on Monday that Fidler could be jailed for contempt of court if that order was not met by 6 June.
