Plans for a £50m business airport in Farnborough (pictured) have been unveiled by architect Geoffrey Reid Associates.
The airport will be built on Farnborough airfield, home of the world’s premier international air show. The site will be developed by TAG Aviation and will centre on a 35m-tall, microphone-shaped air traffic control tower, coated in an aluminium sheath.
Other buildings at the airfield will include a 12,000 sq m (129,170 sq ft) hangar, comprising three floating aluminium bays, and a 4,000 sq m (43,055 sq ft) terminal building, which will be TAG Aviation’s headquarters.
