Farrells Folkestone plans backed

 Folkestone masterplan 570p

Plans to regenerate Folkestone harbour and seafront in Kent, including up to 1,000 homes, have been approved.

Shepway district council has given outline planning permission for a Sir Terry Farrell & Partners-designed scheme across a 56-acre site. Consent also includes new public spaces, leisure facilities, and shops.

The masterplan was commissioned by Roger De Haan, owner of the Folkestone Harbour Company. It covers development ambitions for the next 15 years.

John Letherland, partner at Farrells said: “I believe we have succeeded in establishing an exciting blueprint for the future of Folkestone Seafront, one that will help define the town for generations to come. Now we want to work with the people of Folkestone and other stakeholders to continue to transform the town and to make it a better place to live, work, visit and study.”
