The Versace empire is to launch a worldwide chain of condominium/hotel resorts, the first of which will open in Australia next year.
The fashion house has teamed up with Australian developer Soheil Abedian, of Sunland Group, and will expand the concept to Miami, Greece, Spain, and Sardinia. The project, known as Palazzo Versace, will be valued at £1.3bn.
Versace president Santo Versace, brother of the late Gianni, will launch the hotel concept.
He told EG: “Our first hotel will include 203 rooms and 72 condominiums.”
However, he declined to comment on Versace’s plans to float the group.
