Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers Europe has poached Adolfo Favieres from HIG to head its new office in Madrid.
Favieres joins as head of Spain with a remit to source real estate equity and debt opportunities across the country.
In addition he will look to raise capital from Spanish investors for MassMutual’s real estate subsidiary.
Favieres, who has worked in real estate investing across Spain for 17 years, was with HIG for two years.
Prior to this, he was head of Spain and Portugal at Lapithus Servicing and head of real estate Spain at Bank of Scotland, where he was responsible for €2.3bn (£1.6bn) of finance transactions.
In addition he has worked at Hypo Real Estate Bank, Westdeutsche Immobilien and Tishman Speyer.
Favieres will report to Nick Pink, chief investment officer and head of fund management at Cornerstone.
