FEC UK has named General Projects as the new operator for Hornsey Town Hall, N8, which is set to launch in autumn this year.
In addition, the developer has tasked placemaking specialists AND London to support event curation and delivery, public engagement and the wider programming.
The move comes amid continued regeneration of the grade II listed building, which began in 2018. The Town Hall will soon become a cultural hub, offering workspace, creative studios, exhibition and performance areas, and rooms for public hire and local events. It will also feature a new restaurant and café as well as benefit from integration with the adjacent 68-bedroom Dao by Dorsett aparthotel. The masterplan also includes 146 flats and improved public realm for local events and recreation.
General Projects will oversee the operation and activation of the Town Hall. In the lead-up, a programme of community events will begin this summer, alongside an ongoing consultation process to ensure local groups help shape how the space is used.
Nick Poon, head of projects at FEC UK, said: “We’re committed to ensuring the Town Hall is not only restored, but reimagined as a place that reflects and serves the diverse creative spirit of Crouch End and the wider borough. With General Projects and AND London bringing their expertise to the project, we are confident the Town Hall will be a cultural anchor for years to come.”
