Peel begins talks to go private

Peel, owner of the Trafford Centre in Manchester, has confirmed that it is considering plans to go private. Chairman John Whittaker, who owns 54% of the company, has started talks with the other main shareholder, MSS Nominees. Hemingway NAV rises 8%

Hemingway Properties has posted an 8% rise in net asset value to 55p per share for the year to December. Pretax profit fell by one-third to £5.2m because of a fall in property sales. Dr Tito Tettamanti, chairman of English & Overseas Properties, has raised his stake in Hemingway to 11%. Safestore issues profit warning

Safestore, the AiM-listed self-storage company, has issued a profits warning. The company said that rents at its Croydon site are 40% less than it had budgeted for.
