Fire damaged resi opportunity offer at Mark Jenkinson

A fire-damaged Grade II listed farmhouse of “historical interest” is to go under the hammer at Mark Jenkinson & Son’s 26 February auction.

The sale, to be held at Sheffield United football club, will offer Spout House, a building thought to date from 1545, which sits in around 1.3 acres of land.

Adrian Little, head of the auction department at Mark Jenkinson & Son, said: “The Grade II listed house of historical interest on Spout Lane was damaged by a fire in 2016, which tragically led to the deaths of its two elderly residents. Located on the fringe of Stannington and adjoining open countryside, the farmhouse is in a very poor state of repair but would suit a buyer looking for a large-scale refurbishment project.”

The site, which is being offered with a guide of £475,000, is suitable for residential redevelopment, subject to the required consents.

Other Sheffield properties to be offered at the sale include a three-level student village on Norfolk Park Road, which is being offered with a guide price of £100,000–£110,000, the Frecheville Hotel pub, which has lapsed planning for residential and will be offered at a low reserve of £30,000, and a former church in Bircotes, Doncaster, with permission in principle for the erection of two to four homes.
