Two specialist retail consultancy firms have teamed up to create an “out-of-town powerhouse”.
Investment specialist Staunton Whiteman, launched a year ago by former CBRE and HP Four director Hamish Whiteman and Stockford Staunton founder Nicholas Staunton, has formed a strategic alliance with Curson Sowerby, an out-of-town specialist agency set up by James Curson and Luke Sowerby in 2010.
The alliance is a precursor to a potential merger. Under the current partnership, each company will retain its name.
The pair have already advised on more than £200m of transactions, including Drakehouse retail park in Sheffield, Yorkshire; Maskew retail park in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire; West One retail park in Eccles, Greater Manchester, and Stour retail park in Canterbury, Kent.
Whiteman said: “The market is demanding a more integrated set of services that can identify and deliver investment opportunities and then add further value by delivering asset management plans through agency deals.
“This new strategic alliance is an opportunity for the two companies to build a business that can deliver against the changing demand of the market.”
Curson added: “Over the past couple of years we have worked together on numerous deals. It felt like we should formalise the relationship to enhance our respective service offerings and capitalise on new opportunities.”
The pair said that the formal alliance meant that they were now able to provide a rolling service to landlords rather than just deal-to-deal advice.
