DIY giant B&Q has revealed the first six stores that it will close as part of its plans to shut 60 stores.
The first stores to be closed are on Portswood Road, Southampton, Hampshire; East Kingsway, Dundee, Tayside; Baums Lane, Mansfield, Notts; Stechford Road, Birmingham; and in Hyde, Greater Manchester; and Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
B&Q parent Kingfisher Group announced on 31 March a 1.4% drop in turnover from £11.13bn to £10.97bn for the year ended 31 January 2015.
The closures are the first large-scale move by Kingfisher’s chief executive Veronique Laury, and will result in a one-off cost of £350m.
