The country’s first private shared-ownership housing scheme has been launched.
Heylo brings together investors, homebuilders and housing associations which manage its properties. It is working with seven of the top 10 homebuilders in the UK.
Its chief executive, Nicholas McAlpine-Lee, said it bought properties that were occupied and so yielding long-dated, inflation-linked yields. Local authority pension funds are its ideal funding ground, he said.
