First residents move into Brent Cross Town

Brent Cross Town, the £8bn, 180-acre park town by Related Argent in partnership with Barnet Council, has welcomed its first residents.

As part of the first phase in the development of more than 6,700 homes, almost 300 flats have been completed at Conductor House and The Delamarre.

Conductor House, which will be managed by housing association L&Q, provides 120 homes, with residents relocating from the Whitefield Estate into new homes at social rent alongside shared equity and London Living Rent apartments.

The building was delivered in partnership with Barnet Council and Barnet Homes. It follows the relocation of residents from the Whitefield Estate low-rise buildings to 47 homes on nearby Brent Terrace last year as part of the council’s wider regeneration programme.

Tom Goodall, chief executive director at Related Argent, said: “The completion of our first residential buildings and new residents is a celebratory moment for both us and the community. With a substantial shortage of new and affordable homes across London, we are proud that over the next 15 years, Brent Cross Town will play a key role in addressing this critical need.

“The Whitefield Estate residents have been at the heart of this area for generations, and we have always been adamant that affordable homes would be amongst the first to be delivered at Brent Cross Town.

“This is the beginning of the next chapter at Brent Cross Town, as the neighbourhood evolves into one of London’s most dynamic new destinations.”

Vicky Savage, executive group director of development and sales at L&Q, said: “Social and affordable homes are a lifeline for our communities, and this new development will enable residents to keep the spirit of the Whitefield Estate alive, while also providing them with a new place they can live safe, happy and fulfilled lives.”
