First-time buyers are boosting the housing markets in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, figures from UK Finance show.
Quarterly growth in the number of first-time buyers was in double-digits in all three countries – up 29% in Scotland, 26% in Wales and 15% in Northern Ireland. For London, the increase was just 8%.
The number of loans taken out rose by 30% in Scotland, 23% in Wales and 15% in Northern Ireland.
