First-time buyers winning out over landlords in London

Competition between investors and first-time buyers for properties has fallen after government measures targeting buy-to-let landlords, research by Countrywide shows.

The percentage of first-time buyers facing competition from landlords to buy properties in London has fallen to 21% from 39% in 2015.

The number of London properties being bought by landlords fell to slightly more than one in 10, the lowest since the beginning of 2010.
