Windsor & Maidenhead Council has shortlisted five developers for its four major mixed-use development sites in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The five developers shortlisted are:
• Berkeley Homes
• Countryside Properties
• Grainger
• Pinnacle Group – a consortium of Groveworld and Starwood Capital
• Shanly Homes
A final decision regarding the preferred developer will be made in February 2017 and the contract awarded in May 2017.
The four sites total more than 15.5 acres and are the largest release of land in the borough for several years. The York Road, West Street, Reform Road and St Cloud’s Way sites are expected to provide more than 1,000 homes as well as new commercial and leisure facilities.
Leader of the council Simon Dudley said: “Our joint venture partner will have to work with us to develop these sites together. We will be retaining considerable control over how the sites are developed. I am committed to providing high-quality homes, including genuinely affordable options for our residents.”
