Flagship Virgin Cosmetics stores planned for three London locations before Christmas

Virgin Cosmetics, the make-up store launched by Victory Corporation, has appointed Weatherall Green & Smith to find properties in three London locations for its flagship operations.

The company – a joint venture between Richard Branson and entrepreneurs Rory and Tim McCarthy – is looking for units of around 139 sq m (1,500 sq ft) in Oxford Street, W1; Kensington High Street, W8; and Covent Garden, WC2. Victory is also searching for sites in Kings Road, SW1, and Brompton Road, SW7, as part of plans to open a nationwide chain of 100 stores. In December the company was pipped to the former Ravel unit at 248 Oxford Street by Allsports.

Weatherall Green & Smith beat Jones Lang Wootton and Hillier Parket to win the instruction. Ross Brown, head of retail at WG&S, said Victory has the financial backing to compete with established names. “Our whole network of UK offices will be working on this instruction,” he added.
