Frasers Group is turning the former House of Fraser store at British Land’s Meadowhall shopping centre into a 55,000 sq ft Flannels shop.
The Sheffield store, which will be the luxury retailer’s first regional flagship, will have two floors and feature a new beauty hall concept. It will also include a food and beverage offering, which is set to open at the end of the summer.
It will stock women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, childrenswear and activewear.
Darren Richards, head of real estate at British Land, said: “This year, we’ve seen a number of great brands open at Meadowhall, many of them choosing the centre for their first UK store or new retail concept.”
A spokesperson for Flannels said: “The opening of our first regional flagship store in Sheffield’s Meadowhall demonstrates our commitment to investing in retail and bringing to life our significant strategy across the UK.”
The launch comes after a series of new openings at Meadowhall, including a refurbished 29,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer food hall and the signing of Australian fashion brand Forever New’s first UK stand-alone store, measuring 2,200 sq ft.
Sky Shop, a new retail concept from Sky, has opened a 1,800 sq ft store on the High Street, while retailer Levi’s relocated to a 3,600 sq ft store, doubling the size of its space in the centre.
Cardzone has opened a 2,200 sq ft store in The Gallery, while designer childrenswear shop Kids Around launched a 900 sq ft store on Lower Park Lane.
