Old English Inns has warned it will have to get rid of its riverside pubs if flooding becomes commonplace.
The company said, however, it had not been put off buying riverside pubs despite some outlets being flooded more than once. Most of those affected were in the Midlands and the west of England.
Some of its 163 pubs will not reopen until March.
