Ford has unveiled detailed investment plans for its 500-acre Dagenham site in east London, which will anchor its global production matrix.
The £355m five-year scheme will see Dagenhams diesel engine production increase from 650,000 to 900,000 a year, create 500 jobs and turn the 75-year-old complex into Fords global centre for diesel engineering and manufacturing.
In the surrounding area Ford will create new training facilities and a supplier park creating additional jobs. The complex and its surroundings will also undergo wholesale environmental improvements.
