Former Alcoa factory hits South Wales market

One of the largest buildings in South Wales has come on to the market and is available for sale – with a price tag of £5m – or to let.

The former Alcoa factory at Llantrisant business park, to the north west of Cardiff, is now standing empty after Alcoa vacated the 24,154 sq m (260,000 sq ft) building at the 6.39ha (15.8-acre) site, following plans to consolidate the company’s activities in Swansea.

The business park is located three miles from junction 34 of the M4 motorway. Agent for the scheme, Stuart Hogg, of Alder King, said: “We’ll be marketing this building at both a national and international level. With the combination of its quality, size, location and the fact that the area now has intermediate area status, we anticipate it will attract a great deal of interest from both potential occupiers and investors.”
