Former CA Ventures boss launches student living group

John Diedrich, the former chief investment officer of CA Ventures, has formed a student group with a £200m development pipeline.

Elva Ventures will develop and operate student assets across Europe. It has three assets in its portfolio – in Glasgow, London and Granada – that will provide 1,000 beds.

Diedrich has hired Sinéad Joice, former head of development at CA Ventures and Round Hill Capital, as Elva’s development director, while Paul Symons has been hired as construction director. He previously held roles at Knight Dragon and Unite.

Elva aims to build a pipeline of 15,000 beds in the next five to 10 years, targeting regions such as UK, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
