Viscount House, a former children’s home in Birmingham, is to be the flagship lot in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ July sale.
The freehold purpose-built two-storey building in Castle Vale is one of five lots being sold by Birmingham City Council as it attempts to place more young people with foster families and cut costs.
Bond Wolfe Auctions chief executive Gurpreet Bassi said: “Viscount House is offered for sale by auction with the possibility of continuing as a children’s home but the property may be suitable for a number of alternative uses, including conversion in to two or three residential dwellings, subject to planning permission.”
Other properties due to go under the hammer on 3 July at Aston Villa FC include a 4,147 sq ft former RBS bank in the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, which is offered with a guide price of £285,000-plus, and a shop with apartment above in Malvern, Worcestershire, with a guide price of £235,000-plus.
Bond Wolfe launched its auctions business in January and has since held two auctions. The firm has been instructed on 350 properties.
