The Urban Land Institute has appointed Angela Cain as its global chief executive.
She takes up the role from 3 September, joining from CoreNet Global where she was chief executive. Prior to CoreNet, Cain was chief executive of a state branch of the National Association of Realtors and vice president of global events at Nacore International.
Diane Hoskins, global chair of ULI and global co-chair of Gensler, said: “Angela’s exceptional management experience, real estate acumen, and global perspective make her the perfect fit to accelerate our mission. She has a demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and innovation among members, driving shared objectives and impactful outcomes across the industry. Her capacity to shape organisational culture and build consensus among staff, combined with her clear and decisive leadership approach, reinforced why she was the right choice for this role.”
Cain said she was “eager to listen and learn” from the ULI to “enhance the organisation’s value proposition”.
She will work closely with the ULI global board and co-interim managing directors Leo Gonzalez and Mary Beth Corrigan to ensure a smooth transition.
The decision by ULI’s global board of directors to appoint Cain as global chief executive came after a worldwide search process led by a committee of ULI members. Korn Ferry, a global organisational consulting firm, advised on the search.
