Former DTZ director Peter Mawson is to join the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation as its new chief executive.
The former Donaldsons chief executive and operations director of DTZ in Europe, Middle East and Africa will start his new role, driving the regeneration and growth of Northampton, Daventry and Towcester, in August.
Mawson was one of four directors to leave in February as part of DTZ’s latest round of redundancies.
He said: “The opportunity to join WNDC at this key stage in its life is very exciting. I am looking forward to working with the board and the team at WNDC, alongside each of the stakeholders and especially with the communities within West Northamptonshire.
“I hope to make a real contribution to the immense challenge of delivering significant growth in a sustainable, sensitive manner, and so allow Northampton, Daventry and Towcester to realise their full potential.”
WNDC Chairman John Markham added: “We have been determined to find the right person for what is a challenging and pivotal position – not just for WNDC, but also for the sub-region of West Northamptonshire as it moves into an exciting period of growth and regeneration.”
