Former Glasgow British Rail office set for residential redevelopment

Plans to redevelop the former British Rail office in Glasgow into 595 homes have been recommended for approval by Glasgow City Council.

A joint venture between investment firms Davidson Kempner and Global Mutual will replace the existing Buchanan House office building on Port Dundas Road with 519 build-to-rent flats and 76 private homes.

The office building, which was developed by British Rail in 1965, has been vacant since 2022 and will be demolished as part of the plans.

Amenities will include a gym, multimedia room, private dining space, co-working lounge, library and meeting rooms, lounge and games room.

Glasgow City Council will discuss the planning application in a meeting next week.
