Former Great Portland Estate directors Neil Thompson and Ben Chambers have teamed up with German investors Conren Land and Indigo Invest to launch a new business.
The pair, which launched property firm Dartriver London early last year, will run the new company, to be known as CLI Dartriver, with the aim of creating a London-focused portfolio containing in excess of £1bn of assets.
Indigo Invest, an independent German real estate investment company, has invested in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands and entered the London market in 2016. The managing director of its UK arm is to retire and its London business going forward will be exclusively via CLI Dartriver.
German investment manager Conren Land has carried out more than €1bn of transactions in the past two years in Spain and Germany.
Thompson said: “This is a transformational step for our business, it provides substantial firepower for us to execute our active approach to investment and development in London.
“Conren Land and Indigo are ideal partners for us. Together we will invest on behalf of significant private capital, focusing on the long-term strengths of the London market. London is adapting to new market conditions with an ever-broadening occupier base and sustained demand for investment opportunities.”
