Former GPE innovation head launches real estate tech consultancy

James Pellatt, the former director of innovation at GPE, has launched a consultancy to work with real estate companies on their digital and artificial intelligence strategies.

Digital Trees will help property companies build data infrastructure to analyse their business, and will advise on AI and how companies can integrate it into their operations.

“The key part of our business is to help boards of real estate companies, consultants, tech companies and contractors set a strategy and a vision for technology and how it supports their growth,” Pellatt said. “One of the biggest barriers to the adoption of technology is a lack of understanding at leadership level. Because we understand real estate and tech, we can speak both languages.”

Pellatt will continue in his non-executive roles at Laiout, Pi Labs and Eleco.

Pellatt left GPE in late 2023 after 12 years at the company. At the time of his departure he said: “One of the great strengths of GPE is its focus on central London, and my time there has allowed me to lead the delivery of an exceptional development pipeline and deliver digital transformation to the business. I now wish to take my expertise in property and technology and deliver meaningful change on a broader scale.”
