London-based GAA was founded by former global head of multifamily for Brookfield, David Woodward.

It has clients across the globe and advises on all aspects of build-to-rent from financial feasibility to design, development, construction, operations and funding.

GAA’s senior advisers include Nick Jopling, Grainger’s former executive property director, and Dominic Martin, who worked at Atlas Residential.

Pargeter has more than 20 years’ experience in residential, with a focus on build-to-rent since 2012.

He joined Greystar in 2016 as project director and was later promoted to senior director in 2018. He was previously a partner and head of residential projects for almost 12 years at Deloitte.

Pargeter sits on the BTR joint committee for the ministry of housing, communities and local government, the British Property Federation’s BTR committee, the New London Architecture’s expert housing panel and the Urban Land Institute’s UK Residential Council.

At, GAA he will work with clients on a variety of BTR schemes, including mixed-use projects, from city centres flat schemes to suburban family housing.

Pargeter said: “It has been great to see build to rent emerge in the UK over recent years, but there is still much to address if the necessary culture change around rental homes is to be normalised.

“It is often said that renters deserve better, and I completely agree. The purpose-built, properly managed rental sector addresses the usual concerns to provide the sort of quality, security and sense of belonging that residents really want, whilst bringing benefits to the wider community.

“We want to bring these principles to help diversify the conventional polarised development model and to tackle the housing crisis. This will enhance the long-term future of more places in the UK and other growing markets.”
