Former UK chief executive of JLL Alastair Hughes is to take over as chair of Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust.
Lorraine Baldry, who has been chair of the REIT since 2014, will retire from the firm at the end of July 2022.
Hughes, who has been an independent director at Schroders REIT since 2017, was promoted to chairman following a “thorough and comprehensive” succession planning process led by independent directors Stephen Bligh and Graham Basham.
Hughes will take up the new role on 31 July next year.
