A former west London RAF site has been given the green light to be converted into 356 homes.
The final phase of the RAF Uxbridge masterplan by VSM Estates includes 1,341 homes, a 77-bedroom retirement home, a 90-bedroom hotel, 200,000 sq ft of mixed-use commercial development including shops and offices, a primary school, GP surgery and a 45-acre public park.
The scheme also includes a site for a 1,200-seat theatre. The plans for the 110-acre site was approved in 2011.
The plans for the final phase, submitted by developer Catalyst, will see the homes built in St Andrew’s Park on Hillingdon Road.
The 356 homes, 125 of which will be affordable, will be split across three blocks. The scheme will offer 171 one-bedroom, 149 two-bedroom and 36 three-bedroom flats.
A listed former cinema on the St Andrew’s Park site, erected in 1919, will be renovated and converted into a gym and café.
