English Partnerships is to redevelop the landmark Fort Dunlop building at Castle Bromwich for mixed use. The regeneration agency is already in talks with major leisure users for the 580,000 sq ft (53,882m2) scheme.
Tarmac Richardson Developments had originally planned a retail scheme at Fort Dunlop but this has now been transferred to the west part of the Castle Bromwich site.
EP is understood to be investing around £50m in this and other projects in the area. Castle Bromwich’s manufacturing facility is to be expanded through the acquisition of a 280,000 sq ft (26,012m2) factory unit on 13 acres (5.26ha). This will be leased to Jaguar.
The agency is also forming a joint venture with Tarmac Richardson to redevelop 12 acres (4.85ha) south of the plant to provide industrial and warehousing space.
