
One of the hotel’s industry’s most famous faces, Rocco Forte, is considering a second hotel in London.
In an interview with EG, Forte reveals his expansion plans for his eponymously named company and why he is keen to leave past battles including a hostile take over from Granada, temporary loss of the Forte trademark, and talks about surviving the 2008 recession.
Italy is high on the agenda for expansion, but there are also plans to open in the Middle East, Asia and the US. The UK, however is unlikely to see more Rocco Forte Hotels in the near future. “I don’t have any UK plans at the moment, [however I would] do another hotel in London. I keep my eye out, but nothing has come up yet that works.”
