Sir Rocco Forte is planning his return to the hotel trade with a £12m development in Cardiff.
He wants to build a 120-bed hotel to be completed in time for the Rugby World Cup in 1999. He intends to build it on the promontory at Cardiff Bay.
The Cardiff site is said to be the first of many, including a number planned for Europe.
