Investment management firm Fortress Investment Group has bought Curzon, a UK cinema group with 16 sites as well as distribution and streaming arms, and plans to open more cinemas.
The company changed hands for a reported £3.9m after an auctioning of assets belonging to Cohen Media Group.
Allison Swayze, managing director at Fortress, said Curzon had “exciting near-term plans which include expanding its cinema footprint”.
Openings over recent years have included sites in in Hoxton, Camden, Kingston-upon-Thames and Canterbury.
Curzon recently signed for a new headquarters at Clearbell Capital’s Kodak building at 65 Kingsway, WC2.
