Fosun International of China has raised its offer for Club Méditerranée to €23.50 a share, valuing the French company at €897 million. The per-share price is €0.50 above that offered by Italian businessman Andrea Bonomi last month.
The move is the latest in a long-running takeover battle and came just before a deadline was due to expire.
