Companies taking part in a trial of a four-day working week have reported improvements in workers’ physical and mental health.
Most companies taking part in a six-month pilot are sticking with the policy a year later, according to a study by think tank Autonomy, the University of Cambridge, University of Salford and Boston College in the US.
Only seven of 61 organisations have gone back, with 31 opting to permanently move to a four-day week.
The report also found that 96% of staff found the change had a positive impact on their personal lives, and 50% of companies said it led to a reduction in staff turnover.
