Thistle Group has taken a 9,700 sq ft space on a 15-year lease at Rotherham’s Forge Island development, South Yorkshire.
As part of the deal, Thistle is set to bring four new food brands to the area, including Casa Peri Peri, a Portuguese and South African cuisine offering; Estabulo Rodizio/Sakku Samba, a Japanese-Brazilian cuisine to be merged under one roof; and Caffé Noor.
Construction of the scheme will be delivered by Muse Developments, and is scheduled to begin in October. The project will also see the development of a public square with a pedestrian bridge connecting the scheme to the wider town centre. Other occupiers, including cinema operator The Arc and Travelodge, have already signed prelets on the scheme.
Raife Gale, senior development manager at Muse, said: “Working closely with the council, we’re creating a brand new restaurant and leisure offer for Rotherham. Together, we’re driving inward investment and growth to support the local economy, providing opportunities for local people which will hopefully kickstart further investment and development in the town.”
