East Kilbride Development Corporation, in conjunction with Land Securities’ subsidiary Ravenseft Properties, have announced the details of the fourth phase of the new town’s shopping centre.
The development, to cost £25m and to be known as The Olympia, will have 153,000 sq ft of shopping, an eight-screen multiplex cinema, fast food court and parking for 1,560 cars. Funding will come from a variety of sources, including the cinema operator, the proportions of which are yet to be decided.
Safeway have taken a prelet on the largest store of 35,000 sq ft and the balance of the retail space is made up of a 22,600-sq ft fashion store, two smaller stores and 32 shops.
Architects for the project are Building Design Partnership. Letting agents are Donaldsons.
