Fraser Group moves in on Harworth’s Ansty site

Harworth Group has sold its strategic land holding in Ansty, Warwickshire, to Fraser Group for £53.5m.

The sale to SDI Propco (100) – which is attached to Mike Ashley’s group – is conditional on Harworth being granted hybrid planning permission for the 278-acre site, which is next to Junction 2 of the M6, where it meets the M69.

Harworth first bought land at the site in October 2019 and has been building up the site over the past two years. It had a valuation of £23.9m as at 30 June 2021.

Chief executive Lynda Shillaw said: “Our Ansty site demonstrates Harworth’s unique skills in acquiring and assembling land in locations that are strategic employment hubs within the regions in which we operate.”

She added that by “working with a large strategic occupier” Harworth was able to accelerate delivery of this site.
