Frasers to review Bob’s Stores chain after Nike ends deal

Frasers Group is putting its US subsidiary Bob’s Stores under strategic review, with immediate effect, after sportswear giant Nike cut distribution ties with the chain.

The Sports Direct owner said that Nike would no longer sell its products through its 24 Bob’s Stores from the end of March 2021.

Frasers said that Nike’s decision would not directly affect the rest of the group’s retailers.

It stated: “The Bob’s Stores estate does not include any of the new elevated stores which are core to the Frasers Group elevation strategy.

“Frasers Group continues to invest in its store portfolio and brand relationships and remains committed to its elevation strategy.”

Frasers bought Bob’s Stores out of bankruptcy in 2017, as part of its entry into the US market.
