A massive French sports megastore chain has muscled in on the UK with the opening of its first store in Surrey Quays, in London’s Docklands.
Décathlon’s first UK site is spread over four separate buildings and comprises a total selling space of 9,940 sq m (107,000 sq ft). It plans to open another five over the next three years. Its second is earmarked for the Midlands.
Meanwhile Nike is due to open a Niketown store in London later in the summer.
